Saw someone else do this, seemed like a good idea: NEW RULE for all of you soliciting commissions in notes, comments, and messages: YOU came to ME, so IF I decide to even consider it, I WILL NOT be paying up front. You started it so IF anything is to happen you will have to deliver first so I know you're not looking for a quick buck then running.
Okay, so, update time.
It's been an enormous amount of work, and not the greatest results. I've got 9 usable shield pieces, and one visor. I've got 50 yards of elastic in the mailbox, which I can't get near because my neighbors are treating this as one giant party time, and a couple hundred plastic paper holders that are about ready to come out of quarentine which I intend to make into the actual shield part.
As for the printer, after an incredible amount of frustration, I finally have a replacement motherboard which will hopefully put an end to this, at least according to Monoprice's tech support. With current events, I have no idea when it will come in, but here's hoping when it's in it'll solve the last of the problems. The good news is, when it's done, I've figured out and confirmed a way to cut the original print time in half to approxamately 2 hours. I'll test running it faster when it's operational again, but at least as of the last operational print that was as quick as I could get it going without print problems.
I've also decided to bite the bullet, and take a risk on getting a new printer on credit. It's a Mega-S, and at least says it'll be in on Saturday, instead of sometime between May and June, though again who knows if that's accurate. I normally wouldn't jump into that on credit, especially in such times, but I'm comitted to producing these shields. I have already been talking to a doctor to make sure I'm producing shields they can use, and he was thrilled at the idea of having even a few, so while I have the ones here already in works to deliver, I definitly want to keep making more.
Honestly though, at this point I am gonna ask people to check out the free section of the support page. www.nik60vids.com/support I wouldn't put stuff out that I don't personally use myself, and any bit of help would really be appreciated.
Alright, that's it for now, I hope you all are well, and I'll catch you in the next update. Stay safe, and take care!
